Meet the Faculty: Janet Hayatshahi!

Janet Hayatshahi teaches DRAM 105 and 137 online.

She is an actor, director, choreographer, and educator.  She served as Associate Artistic Director of San Diego’s Sledgehammer Theatre and was an ensemble member of the company.  She was also a member of the ensemble of Chicago’s Eclipse Theatre Company.

In addition to teaching at San Diego City College, Janet has also taught in the theatre departments of Pomona College, University of California, San Diego, San Diego State University, and Grossmont College. She has also worked as teaching artist for the Old Globe Theatre and the La Jolla Playhouse. 

Her theatrical interests lie in ensemble-driven, collaboratively-created works, blending a physical approach and embodied practice with text and story-telling, particularly with new works or re-inventions of classic tales.
