Farrell J. Foreman is directing two of the original plays as part of the Festival of New Plays at City College. He also teaches three sections of English.
Professor Foreman is co-founder and CEO of Bear Arts Foundation, an organization dedicated to the support of theatres and writers of color in the creation of new work. In June of 2010, Bear produced a 24-hour ten-minute play festival at San Diego State University which included resident as well as “Long Distance” plays. Artists from around the country participated in Spoken Word, The Meaning of Community and Theatre, and a Playwrights' Roundtable. Foreman’s plays have been produced at theatres, colleges, and community centers throughout the country. His awards include The National Endowment Fellowship for Playwriting, The Samuel Goldwyn Award for Playwriting, and an American College Theatre Festival Lorraine Hansberry Award for Playwriting.
Farrell earned his MFA in Playwriting from UC San Diego, and he has taught English at San Diego City College since 2000. We're lucky to have him working with us!
