Graduation!

Enormous congratulations to ALL of the students who graduated on Friday. It was a beautiful ceremony, and we wish you all the best.

Shoutouts to Jeremie Smith, Sarah David, and Roberto Castillo, Jr., who got their Associate's Degree. (If I've left anyone else off, please speak up!)

Here are Drama professor Katie Rodda and dance Professor Terry Wilson squinting into the sun at 2017 Commencement.

What are you doing for the summer?

Looking to get some of those pesky GEs out of the way? The Drama Department is offering two classes for Summer 2017: DRAM 105, Introduction to Dramatic Art, and DRAM 107, Study of Filmed Plays. Both of these classes are only offered online, so as not to interfere with your important obligations, like finding the best tacos in San Diego, or perfecting your pop-up at Windansea.

Both classes fulfill the GE requirement for Art, and DRAM 105 transfers directly to SDSU, UCSD, and most every university. It's a required class for the AA degree in Dramatic Art.

Here's the link to the schedule of classes.

Matthew Salazar-Thompson will be teaching 107. Here's a picture of Matt:

And Katie Rodda is teaching 105. Here's what Katie looks like when she's not at work:

If you have questions about either of these classes, contact Matt at mthompso@sdccd.edu or Katie at krodda@sdccd.edu.

Enjoy the summer!

Chicago was a huge success!

Chicago closed on April 30. We were almost sold out for four out of our six performances, which is pretty remarkable.

The work the cast, the crew, the designers, and the production staff put into this show was sublime.

Huge thank you to everyone who was a part of it: those who worked on the show and those who attended it. Subscribe to this blog to learn about opportunities in the Drama Program, and to make sure you know what we're up to.
