Almost Maine rehearsals are in full swing-a-ling! This specific play contains many transitions between unrelated scenes.  Since I cannot abide blackouts and continually work from a place rooted in ensemble and "group mind" I've asked the actors to help me develop movement sequences between scenes that involve the entire company.

 Tonight, the actors were given a song to build a piece around that had to include the following: a moment of extreme distance, a moment of close proximity, a moment occurring off the floor, 2 different forms of embrace, an entrance and exit (a la Anne Bogart). They had 25 minutes alone in a room with no director, here is what they came up with.  Enjoy!

Playwrights please RESEND you final script to Katie Rodda at krodda@sdccd.edu.

There is a mandatory rehearsal Feb 9th from 3:30-5:00pm. It is imperative that you are there. I will give you add codes, we will go over the script and begin the rehearsal process. If you have any type of conflict please let me know. ALSO, ALL actors must physically sign that they accept their role. This list is posted on the door to AH 418. Please sign that sheet as early as you can. If you do not accept your role I will need to know this ASAP.

CALLBACKS FOR FESTIVAL OF NEW PLAYS

Thank you to everyone who auditioned for the Festival of New Plays and Almost, Maine. Please know that casting is incredibly difficult. If you were not called back, please don't be discouraged; there are a lot of variables that go into this process.

If your name is listed below, please go to the Black Box Theatre on the northwest corner of the AH Building at 6:00 on Monday, February 1. Enter through the backdoor. Callbacks for all seven shows will happen at the same time, so your patience is appreciated. Be prepared to attend from 6 - 10; if you have to leave early or arrive late for any reason, please email Katie Rodda at krodda@sdccd.edu before Monday night.

You may be cast in both Almost, Maine and the Festival. You may also be cast in more than one piece in the Festival. If you are called back for both and do not wish to be cast in both, please let Katie know on Monday night. It is ultimately up to the directors to make final casting decisions.
