Please read this entire email--there's lots of information here.
Thank you again for your hard work on Thursday and Friday. Casting is always difficult, and there are many factors that go into it. You may not have been cast in the role or the show you wanted; however, this is part of the process of being an actor. You should be proud of your accomplishment. We are really excited to do these incredibly challenging and awesome productions!
Please remember that everyone in the show is required to enroll for the 3-unit class DRAM 242, Rehearsal and Performance. If you do not add this class, you cannot be in the show. This is a district policy.
Everyone must be vaccinated to be a part of this production. If you decline vaccination due to medical or religious reasons, please know that you will need to be tested weekly. Here is information about how to upload your proof of vaccination or test: https://www.sdccd.edu/students/covid19/.
The first rehearsal is Monday, August 30 at 3:30 in the Saville Theatre. Everyone is called. We will go over the syllabus and COVID protocols, distribute add codes, discuss the schedule, and answer all questions. Following that, the Macbeth cast will stay to have its first rehearsal. Twelfth Night will have its rehearsal on Tuesday, August 31 from 3:30 - 6:30 in the Saville. If you are not able to be at those first rehearsals, please email Stage Manager Alyssa Hayden (alyssahayden16@gmail.com) and your director (Macbeth, Kate Stone, kstone@sdccd.edu or Twelfth Night, Katie Rodda, krodda@sdccd.edu.)
Twelfth Night actors: if you would like to watch a good production, don't watch the 1996 film with Helena Bonham Carter. Instead, please go to here: https://library.sdcity.edu/home. Click on Services --> Videos and Captioning. Go to the National Theatre Collection, put in your info, then watch Twelfth Night.
If you have concerns about any of this, please reach out to your director. Thanks, and congratulations!
