Anyone interested in learning fencing?

I got this message from Bill Hoefer at Mesa College.

We are looking for students that would enjoy fencing and look good on their resume.
Please have them contact me. Having fencing skills may give them a job opportunity at a casting call.

Our dean has given us a deadline of this Thursday. We need about 9-12 fencers.
Course is Monday and Wednesday at 8-9:25 AM., L-114. Mesa campus.

I also have room in my gymnastics course. Fridays 8-9:50 AM.

Never know when or how these skills will help our students.

Thanks for your help and supporting fencing and gymnastics.

Bill

Improv auditions

Hi, this came into my inbox earlier this week. I don't have any information about it, so please contact Gordon directly if you're interested.

Hello Katie Rodda,
My name is Gordon Fitzgerald, Im Director of the National Comedy Theatre College Team. I'm messaging several theatre departments in San Diego. I wanted to see if any of your students were looking for a free outlet to practice and perform improvised comedy.
We are holding AUDITIONS for our College Team on Sunday January 28th, 2017 at 2pm. I wanted to see if you knew any students who would be interested in auditioning for our theatre. Our team performs improvised shows at our theatre the first two Thursdays of every month, and practice every Sunday at 11am-1pm. We are comprised of college students through-out San Diego and was first established back in 2007.
If you want more information about our theatre check us out at nationalcomedy.com

If you know anyone who might be interested in joining our team, please have them send us an email at collegeteam@nationalcomedy.com with their full name, phone number, and put CollegeTeam Auditions as the subject line.

Thanks for your time.

Beginning Movement for Actors is about to be CANCELLED

Hey, guys. It's looking likely that this class will be cancelled since there are only 13 students enrolled. If you need it to graduate and you haven't enrolled yet DO IT NOW!

It is offered at Mesa on Friday afternoons, but they also have low enrollment, so it may be cut there as well.

If the cancellation of this class means that you won't be able to graduate, I urge you to contact Trudy Gerald, the Dean of Arts and Communication at tgerald@sdccd.edu and let her know.

Sorry--we'll keep you updated. :(

Attention Drama Majors!

Have you taken Introduction to Stage Movement (DRAM 165) yet? It is required for the major, and you'll need it to graduate. It's being offered MW from 11:10 - 12:35 by dance professor Terry Wilson--she's amazing, and you'll be lucky to take it with her.

Please be advised that this class is at risk of being cancelled because there aren't 18 students enrolled yet. Don't delay--add the class and tell your friends to add it too.

Even if you're not a major, the training in this class is invaluable. Don't miss out!

Happy New Year from City College Drama!

Welcome to 2018!

First up: auditions for the 3rd annual New Play Festival and The Rocky Horror Show are ONE MONTH from today. Do you have your monologue and/or song picked out?

Second: spring semester classes. Some are already CLOSED, so if you haven't enrolled yet, please do.

Third: if you're hoping to be in Rocky, please be aware that rehearsals will be held M-Th from 3:30 - 6:30. Please make sure your classes don't conflict with rehearsals.

Fourth: is there any interest in getting coaching on your audition songs? We may be able to set up a musical workshop to help you feel more comfortable with the singing portion of your audition. You'd pay a small fee and would work with a vocal coach. If you're interested in this, please indicate on the comments below.

Fifth: have a great week and year!
