Fall 2017 shows are closed!
Enormous thank you to everyone who worked so tirelessly on A Midsummer Night's Dream and Electricidad. This was a semester of firsts at City College: the first Chicano play and the first Shakespeare play in 17 years. You all have a lot to be proud of.
Special thanks to Duane Gardella, Rob Norberg, Elisa Benzoni, Bob Kostlan, and Andrea Singer for their design work. We're lucky to have you at City.
Stay tuned for announcements about upcoming events in the Drama Program!

Don't delay. Get your tickets on Eventbrite or at the door (cash only). Or sign up to usher, right outside of C 105 (interior door).

Guidelines:
· If your play is selected you must enroll for the Spring 2018
semester at SD City College. If selected student playwright must be available
on varying dates for workshops, talk backs and productions between Jan 30-Mar
18, 2018. No exceptions. If you have participated in previous New Play
Festivals you may submit again.
· All plays must be properly formatted.
This means: 12-point font, Times New Roman or Courier font only. Monologues
should not exceed 4 pages. Ten-Minute plays cannot exceed 10 pages. No
Exceptions on the page limits.
· Monologues must have one character.
· Ten-Minute plays should have no more
than two characters. A third character is permitted as long as that character
serves the play. No exceptions beyond three characters.
· Ten Minute plays should have a single
setting.
· Selected Playwrights will be work-shopped
the first two weeks of the Spring 2018 Semester. All plays are considered
workshop productions and will be treated as such. This means that if your play
is selected you will work with the dramaturg and director of your show to find
its final form. Playwriting is a process and your play, if selected, will be treated as such. San Diego City College is an
educational institution and is committed to the development of student writers.
This means that all work is considered “in progress.” It is the goal of The One Act Festival to
foster new playwrights. That means that students must be malleable and open to
continuing the development of their scripts.
· The festival will be a collection of
6-9 selected monologues and 10 Minute Plays/monologues.
· To submit email SDCityCollegeNewPlayFestival@Gmail.com with the log line: 2018 One-Act Festival Submission.
Include all information in a single document in either Microsoft WORD or PDF. DO NOT cut and paste your play into the context of the

Opportunities to usher for Electricidad
Hello,
We're still looking for two people to usher for the show: one on Friday night and one on Saturday. You need to show up at 7:00 (moderately dressy--no T-shirts w/ writing), check in with me and the box office manager, help get people in their seats, and then make sure the theatre is clean after the show is over. Cell phones must stay out of sight.
Sign up outside of C 105 (interior door).
Come find out what's happening in this scene!
